- Account Information: Your email address, first name, and encrypted password when you register.
- Geolocation Data: Access to your geographic position (GPS) is required to suggest restaurants in your immediate vicinity. You can revoke this permission at any time in your smartphone settings.
- Preferences and Interactions: Your selected filters (budget, cuisine type, distance) and your swipe history (Like, Nope, Super Like) to compute your group matches.
- Community Photos: The images of dishes or establishments that you voluntarily upload within the app to enrich our community base.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Operating the core features: creating private group lobbies, calculating mutual restaurant matches, and displaying navigation.
- Managing digital loyalty cards and validating your stamps at partner merchant locations via QR Code.
- Processing table booking requests directly with the restaurants.
- Ensuring application security and fighting against fake accounts or abusive behaviors.
3. Sharing Your Information
We never sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
Your information is only shared under the following strict conditions:
- With your group friends: During a group swipe session, your first name and your current readiness status are visible to other members of the lobby.
- With partner restaurants: If you make a booking or scan a loyalty card at a partner restaurant, minimum required details (first name, email) are sent to them to fulfill your request.
- With technical service providers: Especially our secure database provider (Supabase), strictly for operating the service.
4. Security and Storage
All your data is securely stored on protected servers (secure cloud hosting provided by Supabase). We apply industry-standard encryption protocols (SSL/HTTPS) to protect all data streams between the mobile app and our servers.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your information as long as your SwipEat account is active.
Right to deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from the profile settings within the mobile application, or by contacting our technical support by email.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any important changes by posting the new version on our website and via an in-app notification within the SwipEat mobile app.
